Why It's Important to Brush Your  Teeth. 




Good dental hygiene is important to good health for the whole body, not just the teeth and gums. 

  • Food causes a filmy, sticky substance called plaque to build up on teeth. If it is not removed, the germs (bacteria) in the plaque eat away at the teeth, causing cavities or holes in the teeth. Plaque also makes the gums sore and unable to hold the teeth in place.


  • Brush for at least 2 minutes each time, and don't forget to brush in back of each tooth, not just the front!

  • Brush in the morning, before bedtime and, if possible, after lunch and after eating sweet snacks.
